Monday, 26 December 1994 – Kakadu National Park
Christmas Day was celebrated by lunch at the hotel & then flying from Cairns to Darwin. On Monday we saw giant termite nests on the way to Kakadu National Park which stretches over 19,000 square kilometres and protects, within a single park, a system of massive, unspoiled waterways together with a rich heritage of Aboriginal culture. We took a cruise on part of these waterways and saw close-ups of the famous crocodiles. We were able to walk the ancient trails to see Aboriginal rock art.
