Sunday, 18 December to Monday, 19 December 1994 – Sydney
On our 2nd day of our trip we had the whole day to ourselves. The rest of our tour group wouldn’t arrive until the 19th. So we got up & had breakfast at the hotel, then we had to decide what to do with ourselves. Jay always wants to do & see things which are unique to the area we are visiting, so we decided to go to the Zoo. In 1994 there was only one zoo, Taronga Zoo, located on Bradleys Head Road in Mosman, right on Sydney Harbour and easily accessible from the Sydney CBD. So from our hotel we took a ferry over to the Zoo. We had a wonderful day & saw amazing animals unique to this continent.
On Monday 19 December, the rest of our tour arrived after their long flight. We met together with our tour guide in the early afternoon to get information about how our tour would operate. It was nice meeting the members of the tour. The tour itself would start in earnest on Tuesday morning.
